Professor Nnorom Innocent is a highly respected Professor of Environmental Analytical Chemistry with over two decades of extensive experience in university teaching, cutting-edge research, postgraduate supervision, and academic administration. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong leadership in curriculum development, mentorship of undergraduate and postgraduate students, and the advancement of research that addresses critical environmental and sustainability challenges, particularly in developing economies.

He possesses deep expertise in project coordination, design, planning, and implementation, with a proven track record of effectively managing multidisciplinary teams, financial and technical resources, stakeholders, and complex project documentation. His ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs has contributed to the successful execution of numerous local and international projects.

Professor Nnorom currently serves as a Senior Research Associate with the Basel Convention Coordinating Centre for the African Region (BCCC-A), where he contributes to policy-relevant research, capacity building, and the implementation of environmentally sound management of hazardous and electronic waste. He is also the Programme Manager of the E-waste Relief Foundation (ERF), Lagos, a non-governmental organization established by E-terra, Nigeria’s foremost e-waste recycling company, where he leads initiatives focused on e-waste management, public awareness, and sustainable recycling practices. In addition, he serves as an Advisor and Consultant to the E-Waste Producers Responsibility Organisation of Nigeria (EPRON), supporting the development and implementation of extended producer responsibility frameworks.

His professional expertise includes auditing of e-waste facilities and recycling entities, environmental data mining, collation, and advanced analysis, as well as the development of innovative tools to support environmental assessment and policy implementation. Professor Nnorom is also highly skilled in technical and policy report writing, producing comprehensive, evidence-based reports that inform decision-making, regulatory compliance, and sustainable environmental management at national and regional levels.
